Because I have to be early for everything I was enjoying waiting for Alli and Diego to arrive at Altona Beach, by sitting on the sand when I saw a blue car drive past with a happy face I recognized poking out of the window, wind in his ears.
I've met Diego a few times before and he's always been a calm and quiet boy who's happy to plop himself on my lap. But last weekend I found out that that's because he's at Mum's work and has to be on his best behaviour, on Saturday I was welcomed by an entirely different dog!
He was so excited and full of beans, every second step he'd spring himself into the air with no particular direction in mind, just for the sake of jumping because, well, it's fun! Alli got Diego so that she could have a furry friend to exercise with and after photographing him I think it's safe to say he definitely has the energy to keep up!
I love photographing dogs with their human companion because the love between them always shines through during the session. Diego and Alli were no exception, the way he looks at Alli and jumps along with her like a kangaroo shows how he absolutely adores her.
